Got back from Santa Cruz and was immediately hammered with work. Since I missed a couple of days and it happened to be an event week I worked quite abit but did have one day off to chill last Saturday. Friday was a fun work day though because we were sponsoring a big Alternative Music Festival in Union Park called Pitchfork Music Festival. We had a booth there where we sold fruit and wraps and hummus and guac and such. A little bit healthier choices than the fried greasy foods mostly sold at those events. We were near the stages and got to hear music, stand in the sun, visit guest and sell some products. Not too shabby of a work day :) Saturday was a half day of relaxing, went to church, met up with my cousins for a little bit to walk around the city and went out with some friends until the wee hours of the morning. On the walk around the city I saw some of the set of Transformers 3 that they are filming downtown here this month. Pretty cool. As far as going out on the town on Saturday, I do NOT do that often and when I saw the sun come up and I hadn't gone to sleep yet I was pretty amazed and also not so excited since I had to work in about 5 hours. It was a long day :) This last week I decided to also put a halt on my use of technology while at home for a week. I was spending too much pointless time on the internet and watching the Gilmore Girls Marathons and wasn't doing any reading or writing I wanted to do. It worked out well. I started a new book and did some research for my mystery side project. Also got out the house in the evenings :) Yeah me! Wednesday was a concert at Schuba's. A little venue in Lincoln Park area where Jamie and I saw Nathanial Rateliff. LOVE HIM! He is really great. Thursday I met up with my friend and German Tutor Anna for a little visit and tonight is my birthday party at my house with some people from work. Another eventful weekend.
